The Staten Island Board of REALTORS® (SIBOR) is the largest not-for-profit trade association on Staten Island, consisting of over 1800 members and serving real estate professionals throughout the borough and surrounding areas.  Its purpose is to enhance the ability and opportunity of its members to conduct their business successfully and ethically; and to promote the preservation of the public’s right to own, transfer and use real property.  All members belong to the New York State Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®.

SIBOR provides opportunities for professional growth and education and communicates information to its members that help them succeed in their business activities.  Through the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC), the association supports a legal and legislative environment favorable to the public and its member.

REALTORS® subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics that sets REALTORS® apart from nonmember brokers and agents and is the promise to the public that when dealing with a REALTOR®, they expect fair and ethical treatment in all transaction-related matters.

SIBOR members may elect to participate in the Staten Island Multiple Listing Service, Inc. (SIMLS), a SIBOR subsidiary, which is a computerized network of more than 240 cooperating real estate offices in greater Staten Island.  Within this service, real estate brokers and their sales agents share listings and sales information and work together to serve the buying and selling public.

In addition to REALTOR® members, SIBOR has many affiliate members consisting of real estate related companies such as banks, lenders, lawyers, engineers, appraisers, inspectors and title companies.

RCREI

The Staten Island Board of Realtors® (SIBOR) operates the Richmond County Real Estate Institute (RCREI). RCREI is a New York State-licensed Real Estate School which offers classes leading to a Real Estate Salesperson license and Broker license.  It also offers a full complement of NY State approved Continuing Education (CE) courses that are required for Salespersons and Brokers to maintain their licenses.  RCREI also offers courses leading to advanced real estate certifications and designations.

BERE

The Staten Island Board of Realtors® (SIBOR) offers its members The Board for Excellence in Real Estate (BERE) certification, a collaborative effort between the RealSource Association of Realtors® (Bergen County, NJ) and the Staten Island Board of Realtors® . BERE is a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Waldwick, NJ.  BERE is a comprehensive certification program that recognizes real estate professionals for high levels of education, ethics and customer satisfaction. The Board for Excellence in Real Estate (BERE) sets the criteria for the Board Certified Real Estate Professional (BCREP) designation.
